Ordinary Diploma in Banking and Finace (ODBF)
This is a two−year programme designed for candidates who require basic banking skills or those who wish to learn about new technology and practices in the banking and financial institutions industry.
The programme combines banking and finance principles and practices in financial institutions and focuses on teaching students through actual case studies and real world applications
The holder of this qualification will be able to;
i. Apply microfinance theories and models, banking practices and laws governing banking in providing effective and efficient banking services
ii. Apply communication skills, fundamentals of marketing and customer care skills, management skills and basics of entrepreneurial skills in promoting banking products and sales
iii. Appropriately use mathematics and economics skills in executing routine and non routine work in banking and financial institutions environment, use accounting skills and corporate finance principles in making investment decisions in banking and financial institutions.
The programme runs for two (2) years where Ordinary Diploma in Banking and Finance is awarded upon successfully completion of two National Technical Awards programmes at level 5 (NTA 5) and level 6 (NTA 6)
Tuition Fee Structure
i) For Tanzanians is Tshs. 1,200,000 payable in two installments.
ii) For Foreign Students is US$ 1,200 payable in two installments
Entry Requirement and Eligibility
Direct Entry: Holder of Form six certificates with at least a principal and a subsidiary pass (excluding religious subjects).
Equivalent qualification: A Form Four certificate with at least four passes (religious subjects not counted) and with NTA level 4 i.e. Basic Certificate from a recognized higher learning institution. For ODCS and ODIT, one of the passes at O – level must be in Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry.
