THE DIRECTORATE OF UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES
The Directorate of Undergraduate Studies is responsible for coordination and administration of teaching and field practices for undergraduate programmes in line with the Institute′s mission and objectives and the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) guidelines. Moreover, the Directorate is responsible for the running and administration of Campuses. Currently, apart from the main Campus- Dar Es Salaam, the Institute has three Campuses namely; Mwanza Campus (MC), Dodoma Campus (DC) and Simiyu Campus (SC). The Institute is also constructing a new Campus in Geita region which is expected to start its operations in 2022.
The Directorate coordinates and monitors the field practices through the Field Coordination Unit (FCU) and it oversees the development of market-driven and competence-based curricula, delivery and assessment through the Learning and Teaching Unit (LTU). To date, the Institute has thirty four (34) academic programmes at the IFM main Campus. Out of that, 22 are undergraduate programmes (Certificate to Bachelor degree programmes) and 12 are postgraduate programmes (Postgraduate Diploma and Masters Programmes) which are taught in four (4) Faculties. These are Faculty of Accounting, Banking and Finance (FABF), Faculty of Computing and Information Systems and Mathematics (FCIM), Faculty of Insurance and Social Protection Management (FISP) and Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences (FEMS).
The Directorate is also engaged in the marketing of academic programmes and the Institute′s activities at large. For academic year, 2020/2021, there are eleven (11) academic programmes currently running at Mwanza Campus. There are two (2) certificate academic programmes and one Masters Programme (Masters of Science in Finance and Investment) running at Dodoma Campus. Moreover, there are two (2) certificate academic programmes currently running at Simiyu Campus
Our appeal to the public: study at IFM where the learning gap between teaching and practice is bridged through market driven-curricula delivery and competent academic staff.
