Currently Library Automations is considered a necessary tool for any modern library to deliver its services reliably. Moreover, Koha is the world’s best open source library automation software used by over 3,000 academic, public, school, and special libraries around the world.
Koha is an open-source Integrated Library Management System that has all the modules you would expect in a fully-functional library software such as circulation (both online and offline), cataloging, acquisitions, serials, patron management, branch relationships, UTF-8 for non-English catalog data, and SIP2 for RFID integration. Thus, the purpose of this training is to impart knowledge regarding library automation using Koha.
At the end of this training participants will be able to:
ü Identify basic requirements for library automation using Koha open-source software.
ü Apply basic technical knowledge and skills on library automation using Koha open source software.
ü Acquire technical knowledge on Koha installation, customization, configurations, upgrading and data backup.
ü Acquire knowledge and skills on cataloguing, patron management, circulation, OPAC search, barcode generation.
ü Acquire knowledge and skills on how to conduct library Inventory/stocktaking using Koha.
ü Acquire technical knowledge on proper management of Koha Koha ILMS.
