Course Details

The Institute of Finance Management (IFM) has developed a short course in Research Methodology for a period of five (5) days. This short course on research methods covers a variety of aspects relevant to the planning, execution and reporting of research. The course is structured to act as a vehicle for developing your own research proposal, and is aimed at learners embarking on post graduate studies (Preferably PhD and Master Students). The course may be especially valuable for individuals returning to academic work after some absence from research, or to those who do not have a good foundation in research methodology.

To familiarise the participants with the dimensions and methods of research.
To orient the participants to make an informed choice from the large number of alternative methods and experimental designs available.
To enable the participants to present a good research proposal.
To familiarise the participants with the nature of research and scientific writing
To empower the participants with the knowledge and skills they need to undertake a research project, to present a conference paper and to write a scientific article.
