ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME
The Master of Science in Social Protection Policy and Development (MSc. SPP) degree offered by the Institute of Finance Management (IFM), is a one year programme enabling graduates become competent strategic managers in the field of social protection policy and development.
PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES
At the end of the programme the graduates will have the ability to:
- Evaluate appropriate institutional determinants for the design of social protection policies and reforms,
- Analyze the public-social expenditure and revenues and apply skills in public finance and financial management in governing social protection institutions,
- Apply actuarial aspects and quantitative methods in modeling, designing and implementing various social protection programmes,
- Apply legal, administrative and public policy making skills in governing social protection institutions,
- Use research skills to solve social issues related to gender, child protection and disability in Tanzania, and
- Design feasible micro-insurance instruments for managing socio-economic risks.

A Bachelor Degree in any field attained at NTA Level 8 or from a recognized university, with at least a Lower Second Class.
