About the Library
The Institute of Finance Management Library was established in 1972. It is as old as the Institute itself but has evolved to keep pace with technological advancements in service provision. It is located within the Institute on the second and third floors of the main building, Block A. Since its inception, the Library has been equipped with highly qualified, dedicated, and committed library staff who serve at the heart of the institution, providing various information resources and services to academic staff, administrative staff, students, and other needy members of the public such as researchers, government and non-government officials.
As the Institute has expanded and created campuses in various regions of the country, the Library has not been left behind in its quest to support the academic journeys of students, staff members, and the community in these regions to enhance learning, research, and consultancy. Currently, the Library has three campus libraries and is preparing for its fourth- Geita Campus Library. At present, the operating libraries include:
All libraries are equipped with books to support the Institute's curricula, subscribed full-text electronic journals and bibliographic databases to keep pace with technological advancement in the online sharing of information and research. The Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) ensures library users can view available documents from wherever they are, and inter-library loan can occur to suit demand.
Mission
The mission of the Institute of Finance Management Library is to selectively collect, organize and supply information resources to support teaching, learning, research, and consultancy at the Institute and campus libraries.
Objective
The library endeavours to achieve the following objectives:
IFM library has two functional departments: Reader Services Department and Technical Services Department. Each department works uniquely and in tandem with the other to ensure library users are catered with the information they desire and are offered a quiet and conducive environment for quiet reading.
Library Services and Facilities
The Library offers various services and facilities for learning, teaching, research, and consultancy across the Institute's core subjects and teaching programmes. In addressing the reader's information needs effectively upon entry into the Library, users will be attended promptly with a team of well-trained and dedicated library staff. V. IFM Digital Repository
I. General Collection
Contains books that cover different subject areas organized on open shelves where readers can browse through the shelves, read within the library premises, and borrow for home reading.
II. Special Reserve
Contains reading materials that are highly demanded and of reference in nature. Readers are allowed to borrow within the Library and not allowed to browse through this collection.
III. Periodicals & Serial Publications
The Library maintains the following publications, which come out regularly:

Computers in the Library are maintained to access academic-related information and resources such as academic databases, e-books, online dictionaries, and other libraries/universities' open-access academic content. The Library has set aside a computer workstation with full internet access where library users are guided to access the following educational resources:
