ABOUT THIS PROGRAMME

This masters programme is designed to disseminate comprehensive knowledge to both Tanzanian and international students concerning the diverse forms and techniques of crimes associated with digital systems and cybersecurity. The academic curriculum encompasses preventive strategies and post-incident investigative protocols, incorporating aspects of overall management and information security. This is particularly crucial for governmental and non-governmental organizations across various fields. Further, this programme delves into the identification of system vulnerabilities and the implementation of preventive measures against cyberattacks. It includes the development of practical skills that focus on addressing and rectifying system weaknesses to prevent recurring instances of cyberattacks

PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES

  1. To match with the requirements of the Cyber Security programme for an appropriate breadth and depth of Cyber Security programme professional knowledge and theories as applied in real-world of dealing with cybercrimes.
  2. To produce graduates who can address system vulnerabilities and take preventative measures that may counter cyber-attacks.
  3. To equip students with the necessary skills needed to be able to counter cyber security challenges.
  4. To equip the students with research skills in the field of Cyber Security.
  5. To equip students with hands-on experience in analysing and solving practical problems when digital incidents are reported.
  6. To prepare students for the new cyber security challenges and provide them with the best strong problem solving and reasoning skills.

WHAT YOU WILL STUDY


Direct Entry: Bachelor's degree (NTA Level 8) or Advanced Diploma in Cyber Security, Database, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Database Development and other related disciplines from any recognised Higher Learning Institutions with at least Lower Second class or Pass class with at least three years of experience in a relevant field of study.

Equivalent qualification: Postgraduate diploma in Cyber Security, Database, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Database Development and other related disciplines from any recognised Higher Learning Institutions

 

A graduate of Masters of Science in Cyber Security is well-positioned for a range of dynamic and influential career opportunities. This programme opens doors to technical and leadership positions where individuals can play a crucial role in shaping and implementing comprehensive security strategies within organizations. These roles include such as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), IT Security Manager, Risk Manager, Network Security Manager, and Compliance Manager. However, certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) can further enhance career prospects in this field of cyber security.
