Valeria Kyumana holds a PhD in Information Studies from the University of Dar es Salaam, an M.A. in Information Studies from the University of Dar es Salaam, and a Bachelor’s Degree with Honors in Library and Information Science from Makerere University. She is currently a Lecturer in the Management Science Department and has more than fifteen years (15) of teaching and library service provision experience. She serves as a member of the Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences Library Senate Committee—promoting research and ensuring innovation and quality check of services, and in the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries- COTUL’s ethics committee. Her areas of research and consultancy include librarianship, mental health, prisoners’ information needs and education, libraries and librarians’ position in the digital era, job satisfaction, motivation, and artificial intelligence for education and research.
