The Institute of Finance Management admits students across five levels of the National Technical Award framework — a single, connected ladder that carries you from your first certificate to a doctoral degree.
Every programme is accredited by the National Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (NACTVET) and taught by faculty who work alongside the Bank of Tanzania, commercial banks, insurers and the Treasury. Admission is competitive and merit-based, and all applications are made through the online admissions portal.

One ladder, six entry points
Basic Technician Certificate
A one-year foundation for school leavers entering accountancy, banking, insurance or IT for the first time.
- ✓ A Certificate of Secondary Education (CSEE / Form IV) with passes in four subjects, credit in Mathematics or English an advantage.
- ✓ Recognised equivalent qualifications assessed on a case-by-case basis by NACTVET.
International applicants must have their certificates verified by TCU / NACTVET for equivalence.

Everything happens in the online admissions portal — apply, upload, pay and track your status in one place.
Create your account
Register on the admissions portal with your name, NECTA index number and a working email address.
Choose your programmes
Select up to five programmes in order of preference, checking the entry requirements for each.
Upload and pay
Attach certified copies of your certificates and transcripts, then pay the non-refundable application fee.
Track your status
Follow your application through selection and receive your offer letter in the same portal.

Several routes exist to fund your studies at the Institute.
Eligible Tanzanian students may apply to the Higher Education Students' Loans Board for tuition and subsistence support.
A limited number of awards for outstanding applicants, assessed at the point of selection.
Banks, insurers and public institutions regularly sponsor staff on our postgraduate and executive programmes.
Tuition may be paid in agreed instalments across the semester on application to the Bursar.
