Since its establishment in 1972, IFM has grown from Tanzania’s oldest higher learning institution specialising in financial studies into a reputable provider of academic, professional, research, and consultancy services in finance, banking, insurance, social protection, taxation, accountancy, economics, business, information technology, computing, and related disciplines. Our mission is to prepare students and professionals to solve problems, create opportunities, lead responsibly, and serve society with integrity, creativity, and practical competence in a digital and interconnected world.

Through research, innovation, consultancy, professional training, industry engagement, and community service, IFM addresses contemporary development challenges while strengthening partnerships with government, industry, professional bodies, development partners, and higher learning institutions locally and internationally. As digitalisation, artificial intelligence, financial technology, data analytics, and new approaches to financial and social inclusion reshape society, IFM remains focused on preparing graduates and professionals who can navigate change and contribute practical solutions for the future.
